WHAT IS ASAC?
The Australian Sport Aviation Confederation (ASAC) was formed in 1989 as a national confederation of sport and recreational aviation organisations.ln 1990, it joined the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI), and is Australia's representative on that body.

WHAT DOES ASAC DO?
ASAC has two main roles. Firstly, it is the Australian member of the FAI, the world body which governs air sports, and space and aviation records.

MAAA members crowned World Champions for second time at successive championships.

The MAAA is delighted to be able to advise that the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI - the World Air Sports Federation) control line world championships have recently been completed in Hungary.  The events was attended by competitors from over 21 countries.  For the second successive Championship the World Champions in the individual team racing event are Australians, Robert Fitzgerald and Mark Ellins....

Anthony Mott of Australia sets new model aircraft world record

The FAI has recently ratified the World Record set by Anthony Mott of Australia. Anthony set an endurance record in the sub-class F3 Open (Radio Controlled Flight) of 24 hours 10 minutes and 24 seconds on the 21st December 2009. Congratulations to Anthony on his splendid achievement.
